Retired teachers meet The Wayne County Retired Teachers met for lunch October 17 at the Elks Lodge in Newark. They enjoyed coffee and donuts during the social hour while listening to music played by retirees Don Hunt on the keyboard and Bob Wadsworth on violin. President Jay Ramsey welcomed Wayne County retirees, including four newly retired teachers, and several guests from the Central Western Zone of New York State Retired Teachers. Recognition was given to six past presidents: Fred Durbin, Bob Wadsworth, Alice Scott, Earl Buchanan, Carol Ramsey, and John Hogan. Jane Buell, retired teacher from Williamson, presented a program titled, 'Brain Drain - Use or Lose It.' She facilitated activities that encouraged participation and memory skills. The business meeting included an update on federal and state legislation by Bill Lesniak and Jack Leasure. John Hogan and Carol Lord, co-chairs for the 2007 State Convention, shared an update on what is planned and asked for help from members. The Elks served a delicious lunch. Lyons Vocal Jazz Ensemble under the direction of Mark Wlodarczyk entertained during lunch. Copyright
