Order 'Food Sense' in Newark

Thanksgiving is fast approaching and Food Sense may have an answer on how your family can save money this Thanksgiving. Food Sense is available to everyone, everywhere!

You don't have to live in Newark to purchase food from Food Sense. Food Sense offers the opportunity to stretch your food budget by purchasing quality food at a discount. Everyone is eligible to purchase food from Food Sense. No donated food is used in this program. It's a buying club, there is no income requirement. The cost per unit is $15.50 and this includes 10-14 food items including fresh fruits & vegetables, meats and grocery staples.

This month we have a 10-12 lb. turkey, vegetable lasagna, sirloin boneless pork roast, and meatballs for specials. These specials are available for an additional cost.

In addition, if you are a shut-in or completely unable to pickup food due to age, disability, or an on-going transportation issue, Newark Rotary has a solution! We can now deliver to people that have a need for this service. Please call to find out more details.

Order dates for the November delivery will be as follows: Monday-Friday from 9 a.m. - 4 p.m. up to November 6 at 10 a.m. sharp. Ordering will take place at Excel Staffing, 165 East Union Street, Newark, on the 3rd floor. Cash, money orders, food stamps and vouchers are accepted.

Food may be picked up at the Cornell Cooperative Extension on November 16 between 3-5:30 p.m.
