POW/MIA Ceremony planned in Newark

The Newark Veterans Council has invited the community to attend a ceremony remembering Lt. James A. Marshall of Newark (MIA in Vietnam) and all POW/MIAs. (Prisoners of War/Missing In Action).

The ceremony will be this Friday evening, September 15 at 7 in Central Park.

The Opening Prayer will be delivered by James Rooney, Chaplain of Veterans of Foreign Wars Post # 2883 and the National Anthem will be sung by William Trout.

Guest speakers will be Fred Pirelli, Lt. Col. (USA Retired), Dick Krause, VFW Post # 2883 Commander, and Corky Ridley, American Legion Post # 286 Commander.

Commander Ridley will read the Honor Rolls during the Remembrance Ceremony and the Closing Prayer will be offered by George Smith, Chaplain of American Legion Post # 286.
