Motorcycle Enduro this coming weekend

The Wayne County Motorcycle Club (est. 1935) presents The Fred Bourne Memorial 68th Annual Newark Enduro on Sunday, October 1.

New key time will be 8 a.m. This is one of the longest consecutive running Enduros in the U.S. It was started in 1935, postponed 1942-45 due to WWII, and it has taken place every year since, even during the Korean War.

  • Sign-Up/Tech Inspection: Saturday (Sept. 30) 6:30-8:00 p.m., Sunday 6:30 a.m. to Keytime (8 a.m.)
  • Fairville Fire Hall, Rt. 88, five miles north of Newark. AMA membership required for all classes (available at sign-up).
  • Spaghetti supper to benefit the Fairville Emergency Squad, Saturday Night 6 to 8 at sign-up. RSVP Matt 986.2469 or John 331.4764.
  • Food and refreshments available day of event.
  • Format: Separate AM and PM trail loops. PM loop is optional for the Trail Rider Class.

Mandatory Minimum Technical Inspection Requirements: An attached, functional headlight and tail light (no flashlights taped to a fender), reasonable sound output (loud bikes will be sent home), and current plate/registration affixed horizontally to the rear fender. Vehicle liability Insurance is required by New York State Law and is the rider's responsibility. There will be a second check at the start to insure that lights and baffles/mufflers have NOT been removed and are still functioning. (Local Law Enforcement, the NYS Troopers, and the NYS DEC will be monitoring the road sections.)

A route sheet holder is highly recommended. Route sheet use is required for navigation. Enduro Questions: 331.4764. Trail Ride Questions: 986.2469
