Open house, poetry night in Newark April is National Poetry Month; Toastmasters of Wayne County, Wayne Articulators Toastmasters Club #5888, will hold an Open House - Poetry Night, for the public on April 9, at Newark Public Library on High Street. Members enjoy the more relaxed event as another opportunity to stretch speaking skills. The program features readings of favorite poems and original verse. Karl Obine of Sodus, Vice President of Education, encourages the public and members of Toastmasters to participate in this special event. Familiar poems are often read. This is also an opportunity for the unpublished poets to present his/her verse before a live audience. There will be a wide range of subjects and moods. Stop in April 9 from 7-8:30 p.m. in the downstairs Community Room, Newark Public Library. Registration is not necessary. To be listed on the program, call Dorothy at 597.5722 by April 4. The regular programs of speaking and short critiques will resume with the April 23 meeting at the LGI, Rm. 116, Newark High School, at 7:15 p.m. and ending before 9. Any adult 18 or over interested in improving speaking or leadership skills is encouraged to visit. The group meets on the 2nd and 4th calendar Monday evenings at Newark High School. Copyright
