Lyons dancer wins award

Two dancers from the Studio for the Performing Arts in Newark received awards on their solo performances at the Move Productions competition, at the Auditorium Theater in Rochester.

Emily Hamilton, 17, daughter of Dr. and Mrs. Robert Hamilton of Lyons, was presented a Gold Award in Pointe and received the over all High Score Award for all students attending and a $100 prize.

Tayla Kelley, 9, daughter of Jack and Jill Kelley of Canandaigua, received a High Silver Award for her modern dance and a Silver Award for her lyrical dance.

Students competed with others of their age for judges from Los Angeles and were adjudicated for their skills, technique, stage presence, and costuming.
