August blood drives

The American Red Cross New York-Penn Region continues to see a decline in blood inventory levels. Summer is traditionally a time when blood donations decline by 10 to 15 percent in part, due to people vacationing.

Our region is at a shortfall of 571 units, which equates to about a half day supply.

Blood drives are planned, and donors are needed.

  • August 11, 9 until 2, Church of the Epiphany, 105 W. Main St., Sodus
  • August 16, 2-7 p.m., Ontario Town Hall
  • August 16, 1-6 p.m., Macedon Public Library, 32 Main Street
  • August 17, 1-6 p.m., Red Creek Fire Dept., 7026 Main Street
  • August 20, 2-7 p.m.. Wolcott Baptist Church, 2 New Hartford St.
  • August 21, 2-7 p.m., Marion American Legion, 4141 Witherden Road
  • August 21, 2-7 p.m., Clyde Fire Dept.
  • August 27, 2-7 p.m., St. Anne's Church, 136 Church St., Palmyra
