Early Marion: August 9, 1934 - The road from Marion to Williamson is being widened and resurfaced.

Thanks! go to Eleanor Schoonerman, Priscilla Flack, Sue Devlin, Ann Bliss and Nancy Nevelizer for their assistance in cleaning the Marion Museum in anticipation of summer guests.

A group of travelers boarded a 48-passenger coach and headed for the Lancaster area of Pennsylvania. The trip was arranged and hosted by Harry and Jeanne Lewis in Newark. We ate our way through the two days we spent in Lancaster. We toured the countryside with its big houses, big barns and big fields. It was dry there and the corn was 'reaching up' for rain. We attended the spectacular performance of 'In The Beginning' at the Sight and Sound Millennium Theatre. And a thoroughly outstanding program starring Lawrence Welk performers. It was a wonderful trip, getting together with friends we hadn't seen in a while. And, yes, we frequented any and all gift shops in our path.
