Missing Sodus

Sarah has a new hobby now - barking at me when I leave the house. It is really quite annoying and she barks more when I ring the neighbor's doorbell. Maybe it has something to do with me? It is baffling. How do you stop the dog from barking when she is at the top of the stairs and you are at the bottom? So far, I just tell her to stop and just leave. (I try to be nice about it.) I'm only going to the mailbox or the neighbor's.

Summer has been nice this year - lots of fun things to do and the weather has been great!

The Sodus Free Library Reading Program is still going strong. (I think Williamson started a little before them.)

Make plans now to stop by the Library this week. Plans include:

  • Monday - Preschool Story Hour, 10:30-11:30 a.m.
  • Monday - Rock Painting class, 10:30-noon
  • Tuesday - Share-a-Book Reading Club, 1:30-2:30 p.m.
  • Wednesday - PJ Storytime, 7-7:30 p.m.
  • Thursday - Detectives Reading Club, 1:30-2:30 p.m.
  • Friday - Crafts with Sandy, 2:30-3:30 p.m.

And, of course, keep working on those Bingo cards.

  • August 3 - Crafts with Sandy, 2:30-3:30 p.m.
  • August 6 - Preschool Story Hour, 10:30-11:30 a.m.
  • August 6 - Rock Painting, 10:30-noon
  • August 7 - Basic Spanish Class 12, 9:30 a.m.
  • August 7 - Share-a-Book Reading Club, 1:30-2:30 p.m.
  • August 9 - Detectives Reading Club, 1:30-2:30 p.m.
  • August 9 - Library Board meeting, 4 p.m.
  • August 9 - Tales on the Porch, 7 p.m.
  • August 10 - Crafts with Sandy, 2:30-3:30 p.m.

How is everyone doing on their Spanish? What a great learning experience.

summer decoration August 4 ( I got just got used to July): Open House and Chicken B-B-Q at Sodus Point Fire Hall, Bay Street, Sodus Point. View facilities and equipment, fire and rescue rides. Noon to 4 p.m.

I remember years ago we went and got to ride the... is it called the duck?

August 5 Lighthouse Concert: The Chorus of the Genesee at 2 p.m.

(Does Al Dobbin still sing as well?)

Summer is such a fun time of year. You can spend hours outside enjoying the wonderfully warm weather. Whether you are playing sports, reading books or just relaxing, it's great. Have a good weekend and enjoy it with your family and friends no matter what you decide to do.
