Deadly fire in Marion

The Wayne County Sheriff's Office investigated a house fire in the Town of Marion early Sunday morning which claimed the lives of its four occupants.

The fire occurred at 3708 S. Main St, Marion, and was reported to 911 at 3:56 a.m. Two adults and two children died.

Killed were Kelly Trude, 29; David 'Junior' Trude, 26; 11-year-old Danielle Borate (photo) and three-month old Katlyn Trude.

Investigation into the fire revealed that the fire appears to have started on a deck area located in the back of the residence. Witnesses indicated that two Citronella type candles had been burning earlier on Saturday night on the porch area and may have been left unattended.

The Marion FD was the primary fire department on scene, and was assisted by the Walworth FD.
