Passport Clinic in Newark tonight

Wayne County Clerk Michael Jankowski has announced that a passport clinic will be held at the Newark Village Hall on today, Wednesday, August 8 from 6 to 7:30p.m. Anyone interested in obtaining their United States Passport is encouraged to attend.

Passport clinics will be held throughout Wayne County. The purpose of these sessions is to assist Wayne County residents in filling out the necessary paperwork to obtain their United States Passports.

Jankowski especially encouraged residents to take advantage of these clinics to help keep their money in Wayne County. Whenever someone applies for a passport through one of the national agencies the entire $97 application fee is sent to Washington. Using the office of the County Clerk, $30 of the $97 remains in Wayne County as an offset to property taxes.

Applications may be obtained prior to the session at the Newark Village Clerk's Office.

'I am pleased and excited that we are able to bring government to the people of Wayne County instead of them having to drive to the County Clerk's Office in Lyons, during regular business hours,' Jankowski said.

If anyone has any questions about obtaining a United States Passport or anything to do with the office of the County Clerk please call Mike Jankowski at 315.946.7470 or email
