CCE seeks volunteers

Cornell Cooperative Extension (CCE) Wayne County is looking for volunteers to serve on the Board of Directors and other advisory committees. Since 1917, CCE has been working with Wayne County citizens to increase farm profitability, build leadership amongst youth and increase the health and nutrition of the community. This year we are celebrating our 90th Anniversary!

The Board of Directors is the governing board of CCE and works in partnership with county, state, national government and Cornell University. These volunteers prioritize needs and help to evaluate programs. It is through the participants on the Board and committees that the entire focus of CCE Wayne County is determined.

It is required that Board volunteers be a resident of Wayne County and 18 years of age. Most meetings are held once a month. Board members are expected to attend board meetings and put some time into preparation.

For details, application and further information please contact Jim Johnson, nominations chairperson, phone 315.946.9672 or email jdjohnson@usadatanet.net. Nominations and applications are due by Friday, September 5, 2006. Elections will take place at our annual meeting on Friday, November 9, 2007.
