A Newark gymnast received top honors Sunday at the Candy Cane Gymnastics competition at SUNY Brockport. Alexandra (Ali) House, age 8, a member of the Eagle Gymnastics Team in Canandaigua, finished first overall in the level 5 (ages 9 and 10) category. She competed in four events including vault, high beam, uneven bars and floor exercise. She received a total score of 36.825 out of 40. Athletes from several gyms across the state competed in this event. Ali is a third grader at Kelley School and is the daughter of Rick and Valerie House of Newark. Copyright
