All Marion Senior Citizens are invited to a 'dish-to-pass' luncheon on December 18 at noon, at the Second Reformed Church.

The Tulips group of the 'Red Hat Society' met on December 9 for a Christmas brunch buffet, at the Carey Lake Restaurant. All came dressed in their finery and enjoyed the luncheon and the exchange of special gifts.

Brianne Raes is one of the Birds Eye Foods Basketball Players of the Week. A senior guard, Raes had 17 points, six rebounds, five steals and four assists in a win over Lyons. Congratulations!

Vegetables are a must on a diet. I suggest carrot cake, zucchini bread, and pumpkin pie.

Take time to notice the tiny, twinkling lights in our downtown trees making our own 'winter wonderland.'

Dec. 13, 1894 - Brick makers are now planning on making bricks in several colors.

To make lump-free gravy, thicken it with a few tablespoons of instant potatoes instead of flour.

At Christmas time - Americans consume more than 20 million turkeys.

Here's an idea: Roll your cookie dough out on your cookie sheet - after cutting, eliminate the trim, thus disturbing your cut-outs less.

December 20, 1939 - The school building has taken on a festive appearance in all rooms during the last week. Almost every room has a decorated tree and other decorations. Miss Mary Farrell is responsible for the Christmas paintings in the front window.
