Credit union offers three scholarships Reliant Community Credit Union will offer three college scholarship programs this year. The Donald K. Rhine College Scholarship will award several $1000 scholarships to students who plan to attend a two- or four-year accredited college or university for the 2008-2009 school year. Recipients will be selected based on their demonstration of the credit union philosophy of people helping people as well as their academic performance, employment history, essay responses, and references. Qualifying applications must be postmarked no later than March 14. Two other programs are available to high school credit union members enrolled full-time in an accredited college or university program during the 2008-2009 academic year. The NYS Credit Union League Inc. and its affiliates will award several $1000 and $500 scholarships to high school seniors in New York State and the Rochester District of the New York State Credit Union League will award $10,000 worth of college scholarships in the amounts of $500 and $1000 scholarships to high school seniors or any credit union member attending college for the first time in 2008. Recipients of both these scholarships will be chosen based upon written essays, academic performance, extracurricular/community activities, references, and stated personal goals. Deadlines for these applications are January 25 and February 8. Applicants must be Reliant members.
