Arcadia Society gets two grants

The Newark-Arcadia Historical Society has received grants from two local organizations. The grants are for the new recently-completed roof at the Marbletown Schoolhouse.

The Genesee Country Antique Dealers' Association awarded $500 in December. This group has a grant program for historical societies that rotates among six area counties each fall. This year was for Wayne County. The Genesee Country Antique Dealers was founded in 1948 and hold an annual antique show each March at Nazareth College.

The Wayne County Antique Dealers Association awarded the N-AHS $660 in January. Each fall, the association awards grants to historical societies in Wayne County. The Wayne County Dealers group was founded in 1967. They conduct two antique shows each year in Williamson (October) and Newark (April 29), along with educational programs open to the public.
