Blake Stewart & Gary Ver Straete Blake Stewart received his Eagle Scout Badge last month at the First United Methodist Church in Newark. He was joined by his parents, Larry Stewart and Christine Angus, friends and family and members of both Troop 122 and Troop 138, to celebrate his achievements. He started his Cub Scouting with Pack 138 and graduated to Troop 138. He joined Troop 122 in 2005.

Scout Leader, Bob Hegeman, from Troop 138, also thanked Stewart for his time and accomplishments. Eagle Scouts Colin Morrissey and Kevin Morrissey, participated as the Honor Guard.

His Eagle Project was a trail maintenance day for the Ontario Pathways Trail located on Gifford Road in Phelps. The Troop logged in more than 100 hours of labor and removed several five-gallon buckets of trash from the trail.

A 2006 graduate of Newark High School, he's in his first semester in a 2+2 four-year program with Monroe Community College and the University of Buffalo's Business Administration Degree Program. He worked part-time for Wegmans through high school, and hopes to remain in the area after graduation to manage a Wegmans store.
