NHS Club extends appeal for Darfur The Newark High School Interact Club has decided to double the amount it wants to raise for the war-torn Darfur region of western Sudan. The Interact Club began its Dollars for Darfur fundraiser last month in conjunction with the Save Darfur Coalition. The Coalition has challenged high schools across the country to help raise funds to aid the war-ravaged country. Since it is nearing its original goal of $1,500, Interact Club members recently decided to double the amount they want to raise because it is for such a good cause. Willie Clark is overseeing the fundraising effort and decided to open up the drive to the entire Newark community. As such, the club is asking area residents and business owners to contribute to this cause. Checks, made out to either the Interact Club or the Save Darfur Coalition, may be sent to club advisor Dave Schwind at Newark High School, 625 Peirson Avenue, Newark, NY 14513. Copyright
