Child Stars of the Silver Screen at Library

Lyons Public Library's Child Stars of the Silver Screen movie series is the 1944 feature National Velvet starring Elizabeth Taylor and Mickey Rooney.

Velvet Brown, played by Taylor, wins a horse in raffle and decides to train it for the Grand National Steeplechase. However, girls are not allowed to ride in the race, so Velvet must enter disguised as a boy.

The film will be shown Saturday, Feb. 17 at 2 p.m. and refreshments will be served. This program is free and open to the public; call 946.9262.
