Devlin, Almekinder exchange vows Edward Almekinder and Jennifer Devlin were united in marriage in a double-ring ceremony on October 7, 2006, at the Second Reformed Church in Marion. The Rev. Daniel Meyer performed the ceremony; Amy Davis was the organist. The altar was decorated with white carnations, mums, snapdragons, petite daisies and ivy. Potted mums and candelabras also adorned the altar. The bride, given in marriage by her parents, is the daughter of Paul and Susan Devlin of Marion. The bridegroom is the son of Howard and Debra Almekinder of Newark. Escorted to the altar by her father, the bride wore a satin gown with beaded lace halter and tulle skirt. Her headpiece was a three-tier cathedral veil with rhinestone and pencil edge. She carried a clutch of white roses and stephanotis. With continuing a family tradition, the bride wore an antique bracelet that belonged to the groom's maternal grandmother. Crystal Quinn was the matron of honor. Bobbi VanDusen, sister of the groom, was the bridesmaid. They wore identical sleeveless spaghetti-strap, full-length satin gowns with beaded empire and matching wrap in peridot. They each carried a clutch of assorted flowers. Sierra Powers, daughter of the groom, was the flower girl. She wore a white satin bodice with organza skirt with peridot satin flowers and matching sash at waist. Her head wreath was made of satin flowers in fall tones with cascading ribbon. Vincent Almekinder, brother of the groom, served as best man and the ushers were Josh Devlin and Justin Devlin, brothers of the bride. Her cousin Craig Adriaansen was the ring bearer. The bride's mother wore a sand, off-the-shoulder mock two-piece, full-length dress with embroidered lace top and tier organza skirt. She wore a wrist corsage of assorted flowers. The groom's mother wore a sleeveless, V-neck, asymmetrical dress of burgundy polyester silk, with peau d'ange overlay with matching jacket. She wore a wrist corsage of assorted flowers. Guests attended a reception at DiPacific's Restaurant in Farmington, where they enjoyed music by Joelsong Productions. The bride is a graduate of Marion Central and SUNY Brockport and is employed at the Wayne County 911 Center in Lyons. The groom is a graduate of Newark High School and is employed by Soper Powersports in Farmington. After honeymooning in Canada and New York City, the couple resides in Newark. Copyright
