Seeking high school students Do you want to learn how to run The Wayne County Fair in Palmyra? The Wayne County Fair is looking for a current 2007 high school Junior or Senior to be the 2007 Wayne County Fair Apprentice. The Apprentice will have the opportunity to work with the Fairs, Board of Directors during the week of the Wayne County Fair August 13-18 and gain experience in learning what it is like to organize and run this annual event. Awards: 1st Place $500 Cash Prize and title of Wayne County Fair 2007 Apprentice; 2nd - $250 Cash Prize; 3rd Place - $100 Cash Prize Wayne County Fair President Pamela Ferranti and the Fair Board of Directors realize that the future of the Fair depends on the involvement of today's young people. 'We want to give someone that opportunity to see first hand what organization skills are required as well as the various activities that take place to put on the annual Wayne County Fair. The experience gained by the Apprentice may encourage someone to make entertainment and hospitality their career choice,' said Ferranti. All applications must be postmarked by March 31. Applicants must be a current Junior or Senior in High School now, complete an Apprentice application and submit a minimum 300 word typed essay titled 'Why I Want To Be The Wayne County Fair Apprentice.'
