Upset for Lions boys

The Lyons Lions boys basketball team was the number one seed and also the defending Class CC champs from 2006.

 In another shocking upset in Section 5, the Lyons Lions were defeated by the Redskins of Canisteo Greenwood at Lyons 53-49 in overtime Friday.

Canisteo was the number 8 seeded team. They grabbed a 12-2 early lead before the  Lions came back. Canisteo led by one point, 22-21, at halftime.

Lyons had opportunities in the second half, but Canisteo kept responding when needed.

Lyons dropped to 16-4 while Canisteo improved to 15-7.

Billy Wells of Lyons is seen taking the ball up the court for the Lions. Turell Parker led the Lyons Lions with 15 points, Darius Greene added 12 and Kirk Stoughton added 11.
