Lady Reds win over Blue Devils

The Lady Reds basketball team is on a mission; Saturday they defeated the Victor Blue Devils 75-45 in Section 5 Class A quarterfinal action at Newark.

Newark is now 22-0 on the year and ranked number two in the state polls. Newark now takes on Pittsford Sutherland at Victor on Thursday March 1 at 8 p.m.

The Lady Reds had little trouble with Victor, taking a 20-7 first-period lead and leading 38-12 at halftime.

Newark scored the first eight points of the second half to lead 58-17.

Fenyn led with 23 points, 14 rebounds and eight assists. Shakista Woolfolk scored 22 points and sharpshooter Bunce scored 11 points, had five steals, contributed six assists. Kristin MacBride, Heather Virts and Sarah Tanea also provided key moments along with defensive specialist Jennifer Monaco and point guard Jackie Loson

Last year the Pittsford Sutherland girls won the State title.
