Happy New Year! I think this year we have got to take some time for us before we all burn out. If possible, set aside a nice cozy little spot where you can be comfy reading or just having a cup of tea. A place near the window so you can look outside as you sip. If there is a Yoga class near you, gentle yoga is a good place to start and relaxing. It is difficult to take time for ourselves but after we do, we feel re-energized (ready for facing the kids when they come home from school if that's possible). We all have the great New Year's resolutions and some of them are big goals to attain. By taking an hour to relax, you then will probably have time to think about what your plan would be for losing weight, or excercising more, what good books you want to read. There are new books and DVDs at the Sodus Library for you to check out. Sarah Harper, an accomplished knitter, will be offering a beginner's class from 10 a.m.-noon, starting on Friday, January 12 (note change of day and time). There will be a small fee to help cover the cost of supplies. Call 483.9292 or stop by the Library to sign up or for more information. At the Kraft Shack: ONE STROKE PAINTING: Wed., Jan. 10 6:30 to 8:30 p.m. Come and see how easy it is to learn some One Stroke Painting techniques. $28 includes all. Jim Postier, illustrator of Goose Moon, among many other children's books, is finishing up the latest work and hopefully we can all see it on the book shelves soon. As soon as the new book comes out, I'll let you know so you can go out and get it. Jim will have at least two others he will be working on for the new year. We look forward to reading them. Where is my Sister's Side Door going? They are going to be at the L.W.Emporium so you can stop by one of the restaurants and stop by the shop and say 'hi.' Not sure when they will be there, so if you have information please let me know and then we'll all know. Oscar got his hair cut for the new year and, of course, looks just adorable (as always). Hopefully, for the new year, I can get him to go for walks at the new place. He's still afraid. Somehow, I don't think me carrying him makes a good exercise program for him. Go outside and enjoy the nice weather while it lasts. I have decided it'll be really nice just until the day I have to go back to Buffalo or the other parents are taking their kids back to college. Have a great week. Take some relaxation time while the kids are at school or napping. Housework will wait for you. It will still be there when you get done with some reading and a cup of nice hot tea. Copyright
