January 19: Family Roller Skating sponsored by the PTA from 7-8:30 p.m. in the Elementary School gym. All children must be accompanied by an adult.

Bob Lischer of Williamson Rd., has donated a book 'Burma-Shave the Rhymes, the Signs, the Times' to our Marion Museum Library. It contains the 556 rhymes we have come to know and love, of which the first was:

He lit a match
to check gas tank
That's why
They call him
Skinless Frank ... Burma-Shave.

In 1883, Hastings B. Smith built an ice house on the pond now owned by William Howell. This ice house was built to supply Hessler and Company with ice for their egg business. The ice was elevated from the pond up into the ice house by horse power.

Remember that people who deserve love and kindness the least probably need it the most.

Thirty-five members of the Bushart family gathered Saturday at the home of Isabelle (Grandma) Bushart for a belated Christmas celebration. They enjoyed a 'dish-to-pass' dinner, games, and just talking. Getting special attention were the newest members of the family, six-month-old Ian Marsh, son of Ben and Kelly Marsh,granddaughter of David and Karen Bushart and three-month old Maci Bushart, daughter of Mark and Amanda Bushart, and granddaughter of Carmen and Beth Bushart. Rev. Kevin Bushart of Odessa, Texas was able to attend as he is here for two weeks school at Northeastern Seminary in Chili. He was spending the weekend with his mother.

Mackenzie Reiss presented the Ministry of Music at the Second Reformed Church on Jan. 14. She sang a solo titled, 'Jesus Took the Wheel.'
