Fire Banquet Saturday at Chart House

The four fire companies of the Newark Volunteer Fire Dept. will join together for their Annual Banquet at the Chart House Restaurant, Jan. 27 at the Quality Inn.

This event is the highlight of the year for many volunteer firefighters according to Dick Colacino, banquet chairman and Public Information Officer for the Dept., when the event is to recognize the commitment from the men and women that volunteer their services to the Newark Community whether it is risking their safety and lives entering a burning structure, fund raising to earn funds for the Dept. training new members, or keeping the books in order.

Senator Mike Nozzolio will attend; entertainment will be by Robert Channing - 'World's Foremost Mind Reader & Motivational Speaker.'

Colacino says the audience will participate and experience the fascinating and mysterious wonders of the sixth sense. An audience member can pick a thought - any thought. Channing will tell you what it is, even your Social Security number, special dates, or even the exact amount of money in pocket.

Many special guests who have assisted the Newark Fire Dept. during the past year will be attending the banquet as well village and town board members, and neighboring fire chiefs representing their fire depts. which are always there when assistance may be needed at any emergency scene.

All Newark firefighters are invited to attend and are sure enjoy the evening. The fire department is celebrating 148 years of volunteer fire service in Newark.
