Marion Historic Assn. plans for '07 Volunteer officers for 2007 of the Marion Historic Association at the January l6 meeting held at the Marion Municipal Building are: President Priscilla Flack, Vice President Carolyn Adriaansen, Secretary Barbara DeWandel and Treasurer Carol Kearns. Plans for 2007 include projects at Jennie's House as stripping the woodwork, completion of the restoration of the family kitchen since this room has deteriorated through the years. The group received a grant of $340 from the Wayne County Antique Dealers Association which will be applied to the work on the kitchen. Plans were discussed for the repair or replacement of the side porch, which is the major entrance to the home, with hopes of duplicating the original porch. Discussion covered the possibility of having Jennie's House be a center for historical meetings. Another year has passed since the subject of signs for our outlying cemeteries was brought up. We have ordered a free-standing sign for the Upper Corners Cemetery which will be installed at the first sign of Spring. There is a need to replace the fence and posts since there has not been anything, in memory, at these town cemeteries. Do you have any ideas? Are you willing to help?
