Sale, ghost walks, psychic readings Peppermint Days in Lyons is always a happening time and the Wayne County Historical Society's Museum of Wayne County History adds to the fun with Ghost Walks, Psychic Readings in the old jail and a huge yard sale on the museum lawn. The popular Ghost Walks will be held July 13-15, during Peppermint Days. Join us for a 90-minute walking tour developed by Mason Winfield: writer, researcher and supernatural historian. The walk includes psychic folklore, haunted architecture, ancient archaeological mysteries, and the ghostly heritage of Lyons. Good, old-fashioned storytelling; an eye for detail; and an understanding of the paranormal make this a special journey, a mysterious walk into the psychic and the unknown. Walks take place in rain or shine and at your own risk! The Ghost Walks meet at 3 p.m. on the steps of the County Courthouse and cost is $10 for adults and $5 children ages 7-11. July 14 the museum will host a huge yard sale under the tent on the lawn. The museum is offering vendor table space for only $15 to antique dealers, area organizations, artists and crafters and to private individuals. Call to reserve your space. Come Saturday morning at 9 to set up your table and treasures. The yard sale is open from 10 to 3 and there is no admission charge. Sunday, July 15, 11 a.m. to 4 p.m., Psychic Readings at the Old Jail are back by popular demand. The birth of modern day spiritualism happened right next door in Hydesville at the Fox Sisters residence and mediums and psychics have been seeing the future, reading the past and talking with spirits ever since. Receive a Tarot Card reading; identify your animal totems, spirit guides and guardian angels with local psychics from Angel Heart Chapel. The Museum of Wayne County History is just a short walk from the park, straight up Church Street and while you visit, don't forget to take in the exhibit, Four Faces of War. Visit the museum from Tues. to Saturday, 10 to 4, or phone 946.4943.
