Benefit for Transplant Fund today

Pulled Pork BBQ, car wash and quilt raffle will benefit the Shane Collins Transplant Fund. The events are today (Saturday, July 7) from 11 to 3 at Reliant Community Credit Union in Newark (formerly WCTA), Harrison St. at North Main.

Shane Collins, 16, has finished his junior year at Newark High School. He is suffering from primary schlerosing cholangitis, a rare disease destroying his liver. The only cure is a liver transplant; the benefit will help with expenses.

Barbecue provided by Steve's BBQ

Pulled pork dinner includes salt potatoes and cole slaw. Drinks are available. Dinner costs $7.50; sandwich only is $3.

Car wash (make a donation) provided by Wayne County Youth Group.
