The Inter-church Council of Lyons invites everyone to attend a special Ecumenical Peppermint Days Worship Service. The worship service will be held at the Ohmann Theatre on William Street in downtown Lyons on Wed., July 11 at 7 p.m. The service will include traditional hymns and Mr. Charles Finley of Lyons will be the accompanist. The Rev. Jack Bailey of St. John's Lutheran Church in Lyons will offer the meditation. Lyons Supervisor Jim Fabino and Mayor Corrine Kleisle will be in attendance with words of welcome, helping to 'kick-off' the annual Lyons Peppermint Days Festival. A time of fellowship will follow the service. The offering will help to support the work of the 'Group Workcamp' which is scheduled for July 29-August 4. Approximately 380 teenagers from across the United States will be coming to Lyons to donate their time and talent by helping low-income, elderly and handicapped homeowners with home improvement projects. This ministry is being supported by the Inter-Church Council of Lyons, as well as by many individuals and by other organizations in the area. For additional information on the Group Workcamp, please call Kris or Dick Vanderlinde at 315.946.6522.
