Trail ride event for Cracker Box Palace

Saddle up your horses, recruit some sponsors, and come out to Cracker Box Palace Farm Animal Haven for a day of trail riding, picnicking, and a whole lot of fun!

The event is this Saturday, July 28 and the goal is to raise $2500 to bring Days End Horse Rescue to the farm for a two-day comprehensive Large Animal Rescue Training seminar for the emergency personnel in Wayne County.

The ride will include checkpoints with a poker run, trivia rescue questions, treats and water for horses and riders, and for anyone who cant finish the ride well have tow trucks available to bring horses and riders back to the farm.

A picnic will follow the ride, and there will be awards in several categories, including an award to the person who collects the most sponsor funds.

Camping will be available with a nominal charge for overnight stall rental. Everyone is welcome; kids 16 and under must have an adult riding with them, and all kids 14 years and under MUST wear a helmet. You must provide your own horse, and coggins and rabies certificates are required. Registration is at 8:00 a.m.; the ride starts at 9:30 a.m.

The farm is located at 6450 Shaker Road in Alton, north of Route 104 at Route 14. Call 483.2493 for information. Event takes place at Alasa Farms, 6450 Shaker Road, Alton.
