Missing Sodus Did everyone have a busy weekend last weekend? There were so many fun things to do. Moms only have another month and a couple of weeks to keep the troops busy and then it's off to school again for everyone. Of course, college kids go back the end of August. I'm excited about having less stuff piled up around me but not so thrilled about having to move him back into the dorm. It takes so much energy! Sodus Firemen Field Days are going on. Tonight is the Firemen's Parade and there are vendors, rides, music and more! Tomorrow (Saturday, July 28) is the Cracker Box Palace Poker Run Trail Ride Fund Raiser. Saddle up your horses, recruit some sponsors, and come out to Cracker Box Palace for a day of trail riding, picnicking, and a whole lot of fun! Cracker Box Palace, 6450 Shaker Road, Alton. And Sunday, July 29 the Old Sodus Lighthouse Concert is The Dady Brothers (Country, Folk, Irish, Bluegrass). Bring a chair or blanket, pack a picnic and head to The Point. The concert starts at 2. The Summer Reading Programs are well underway: From the Sodus Free Library
At the Williamson Library they are still having fun as well: Wednesday, August 1 - Bubblemania at 1 p.m. Stop in and see the Teen Art Gallery... works of art by local kids! Want to get your 'two cents' in about the library and the teen area? Join the Teen Advisory Group. See Mrs. J about it at the Williamson Library. Did your kids go to a Harry Potter Party? We should have gone. It would be the last one ever, since it is the last book. Enjoy the summer days we have doing fun things with the family - simple things like going for walks, going to the beach and reading together are always good. Many times, those are the ones we remember the most when we grow up.
