Humane Society open house is Sunday The Humane Society of Wayne County announces its Community Education Open House at the Shelter, between Newark and Lyons, on June 10, from noon to 4. Educational speakers are scheduled: 12:45-1:15 is Brendan Wholley: Hills Pet Nutrition, speaking on proper pet nutrition for cats and dogs. 1:15-1:45: Invisible Fence of CNY; pet containment tips and tricks. 1:45-2:30 - Rick Healy, Wayne County District Attorney, on animal abuse and the prosecution of cases in Wayne County. 2:30-3:30, Investigator Joshua Muller; Humane Law Enforcement Officer, Humane Society at Lollypop Farm: anatomy of a dog-fighting case. The Sheriff's K-9 Unit will give a demonstration, Cracker Box Palace is bringing farm animals, WOWEE exotic animal rescue and education will be there, Brightstar German Shepherd Rescue, Habitat for Cats, Kritter Kris and her birds of prey, PetSmart, Wayne County Animal Response Team. There will be a special working dog team. Paws for a Cause will be taking place, register early for Mutt Strut and buy your Go Fetch raffle tickets.
