Two festivals this weekend in Newark St. Michael's Parish Family Festival, South Main Street, Newark, will be June 8, 5 to 11 p.m.; June 9, noon to 11; and June 10, noon to 3:30. There will be many amusement rides, a midway with games and prizes, the ever-popular Cake Wheel, hot dogs, hamburgers, sausages and wonderful homemade desserts! Jim Dorn will provide live music Friday Night and DJ Corey Comer is in charge all day Saturday. A chicken BBQ will be held Sunday, 11 to 3. The kids games will also be there. Winner of the 2007 Chevrolet Vehicle Raffle will have a choice of four cars to choose from. Tickets are $10. Chicken BBQ tickets, $6.50; and car raffle tickets are available at St. Michael's Parish Center, South Main St. Newark Family Festival (formerly known as Newarkfest) will also be held June 8, 9, 10 on Main Street, Newark. Friday from 6-9 p.m. Ruby Shooz will entertain, sponsored by Lyons National Bank. Saturday a Country Jamboree from 3:00 to 9:00 pm, sponsored by Walmart. There will be Fireworks on Friday night at 9:30 pm at T. Spencer Knight Park. On Saturday morning, the Run For The Red 5K race, sponsored by Market Alternatives, will start at 9 a.m. Entry fee is $12 pre-reg. and $16 day of race. Registration is at 8 a.m. - in Central Park. Awards will be given out immediately following the race. Sunday from 1-4 p.m. it will be The Finger Lakes Jazz Orchestra, sponsored by Community Bank, NA, playing on the wagon on South Main. The festival will feature Arts & Crafts, Friday 4 to 10 p.m., and Saturday, 10 a.m. to 10 p.m., in Central Park with over 150 booths. There will be continuous entertainment in Central Park on Saturday & Sunday, an Open Golf Tournament on Sunday, at Erie Falcon Golf & Recreation. The Newark-Arcadia Musem will host an Open House, 120 High Street, Friday 4-8 p.m., Saturday & Sunday 10 to 8. Copyright
