Lyons Center gets tennis grant The United States Tennis Association (USTA)-Eastern Region awarded Lyons Community Center $2,500 to provide tennis programs for all ages and all communities in Wayne County. The grant was secured by the Wayne County Department of Aging and Youth for LCC to offer tennis programs throughout the year to youth and adults that may not ever have had the opportunity to try the sport of tennis. The grant was made possible due to a collaboration between USTA and the Association of New York State Youth Bureaus. Tennis programs for youth ages 6-18 will be available for no charge or possibly a small fee. Equipment will be available. Adults (16 years of age and up) will be able to sign out tennis equipment free of charge at the Lyons Community Center for use at the Lyons tennis courts. Tennis instruction, both one-to-one and group, will also be offered for all ages. For more information please contact the Lyons Community Center at 315.946.6202.
