Car Show Saturday at County Home

The Wayne County Nursing Home Activities Department will be hosting a Car Show on Saturday, June 16, from 11 to 3 at the Nursing Home, 1529 Nye Rd., Lyons, NY. In conjunction with the Car Show, the Wayne County Nursing Home Foundation, Inc. will be having several fundraising events for the Flagpole Project.

School Speciality, Inc. donated a 30 foot flagpole and a flag to the Foundation for the new nursing home. Before the flagpole can be set properly, some landscaping work needs to be done. This work involves building a retaining wall and installing a fence on the wall for safety. The plans also call for a brick patio with benches. The Foundation is working to raise the funds for this Flagpole Project. Our theme is 'Let's Raise the Flag.' The flagpole will be dedicated to our Veterans. The Nursing Home would like to plan a dedication ceremony on Veterans Day.

This Saturday, there will be a silent auction, 50/50 raffle and a Flea Market. Food and beverages will be available for purchase. Entertainment will be provided by the Savannah Cellar Savers from 11:30 - 1.

Currently, tickets are being sold for a raffle and the drawing will be held Saturday. Prizes include gas cards, car washes, savings bonds, afghan, golf course gift certificates and much more.
