Pick a Peppermint Porch

The Lyons Civic Club is sponsoring a contest for the residents of Lyons, the Historic Peppermint Capital of the World, and inviting them to decorate their front and/or side porches in the red and white peppermint theme for a contest that will lead into the Peppermint Days celebration.

To be included in the judging, porches must be registered and visible from the street that is listed in their address. To register, call Sharon (946.3367) or e-mail lyonscivicclub@aol.com

The deadline for registration form submission is July 1. Porches must be completed for judging by Friday, July 6.

Lists of all the homes participating will be available, after July 7, at Dobbins Drug Store, LNB (both branches), and Losons Big M. Voting for the Peoples Choice Award will be by paper ballot at Dobbins, LNB, and Losons from July 7- July 13 at noon. Prizes will be $50 (1st), $25 (2nd), $15 (3rd) and certificate for Peoples Choice. Plaques will be presented to all winners.
