Missing Sodus

flowering plants

Another beautiful week! I am so used to being able to garden when I want to, but this year was different because now, living in an apartment, I have 'guys' who do the mulching, so I had to wait. Although, I am not complaining. It is nice having 'guys' do all the heavy stuff. It was a big relief this year that it wasn't me going to have to shovel the mulch and push it into the gardens. This year, I could just pop the plants in and water. I could get used to this pampering!

Sodus Library:

Need to use your computer, but the Library is closed? This patron solved that problem in a unique way - he just brought over his lawn chair and accessed our wireless connection from the sidewalk! Our WiFi is available 24/7, so you don't have to wait until we open to use it. All you need is your library card and pin numbers, and you're connected.

All the chairs filled? Waiting in line for a computer? One teen also did some problem solving - he found a quiet spot in the biography corner and got totally lost in the exciting world of a graphic novel.

Visit us soon to experience all we have to offer!

garden Lots of fun events happening in the area:

A summertime tip: You went out and watered your hanging basket but by afternoon in the sun it doesn't look terribly good. Many times we know we watered the plants but, many times, we don't water enough. Take your hanging basket and hold it by the hook as you water with the other hand. Then water until the plant feels heavy or when the water flows out the bottom of the planter.

rainbow If at all possible take a gentle yoga class to feel better and more relaxed. It takes some time to learn the movements and, after years of doing the class, I still am not sure. You will find with the movements you are stretching out muscles and parts of your body that haven't seen a good stretch for years. Also, in a yoga class, you will learn deep breathing techniques that teach you to breathe deeply. Many of us surface breathe. The class gives us permission to take care of ourselves if only for a little while, and the relaxing part is priceless. When you leave, you are relaxed and energized at the same time. You feel more prepared to tackle the family and whatever life challenges you face for the day. If you haven't got a Yoga class near you, you can pick up a gentle yoga DVD. You will be amazed at the difference it makes in your life.

Have a great week with your families and friends. Smell those flowers you planted, and look for the rainbow. See beauty in something around you everyday.

Happy Father's Day to all you dads!
