War Exhibit Preview in Lyons A special event is being planned at the Museum of Wayne County History in Lyons. War: three letters, one word, millions of emotions. The Museum of Wayne County History's new exhibit will try to decipher, through pictures, letters, images, videos and sound, the 4 Faces of War: Notification, Training, Fighting and Homecoming of Wayne County Soldiers in every war since 1812. Part of the exhibit will include a private viewing booth, where visitors will experience a projection of names, articles and photos of Wayne County's Fallen Heroes, throughout the wars. In conjunction with the opening of the exhibit, the Historical Society has rescheduled the Ham Radios program presented by Terry Bayne for June 21, 7 p.m. The 4 Faces of War Exhibition Preview Party, open to the public, will follow at 8. Visitors will also be able to see the newly renovated Military Room on the 2nd floor of the museum. Bayne will be giving a presentation on Amateur Radio (HAM Radio) services during emergencies and times of need in and out of war. The discussion will include a brief history of Amateur Radio, a review of various Amateur Radio Emergency Response Organizations, Ham Radio at War, Civil Emergencies and Community Service. The History at Night series is now held in the new conference room in the Museum of Wayne County History at 21 Butternut Street. To learn more, visit the museum from Tues. Saturday 10 to 4, or call 946.4943.
