Hurley wins run-off election in Newark

Teresa Hurley, who was seeking election to her first three-year term on the Board of Education, defeated one-term incumbent Jack Dubler in a special run off election June 26 by a vote of 525 to 412.

The election was held to decide who would win the seat after each received 677 votes in the May 15 election. Two-term incumbent Roberta Colacino won the other seat up for grabs in the May election, with 727 votes.
