Candlelight induction in Wolcott

Donna Brooks, Karen Burgess, Susan DeVay, Lyn Morales, Connie Osborne, Barbara Packard, Sally Smith, Carolyn Youngs and Kathy Zappia.The last meeting of the year for Beta Theta Chapter of Delta Kappa Gamma was held at Wolcott First Methodist Church and included a candlelight induction ceremony of new members.

Those members that were inducted: Donna Brooks, Karen Burgess, Susan DeVay, Lyn Morales, Connie Osborne, Barbara Packard, Sally Smith, Carolyn Youngs and Kathy Zappia. All are teachers in Wayne County Schools.

Sharon Coleman was presiding officer and recognized the charter members of the organization, who each gave a glimmer of the past. They included Jean Egynor, Arlene Youngman and Betty Coman.

Beta Theta Chapter held its March meeting at the Ohmann Theatre, where Pat Alena and Jacinda Lisanto presented a program called 'A Tour of Italy.' Both had visited and toured northern Italy, where their children had studied.

The Chapter's April meeting was held in Sodus at the Presbyterian Church. A basket auction was the featured program, where funds were raised for the chapter's sponsorship of the Victim Resource Center in Newark.

Delta Kappa Gamma is an international honor society of women educators and Beta Theta Chapter is one of the Wayne County chapters.
