THANK YOU ... to all of our mail carriers and to the members of the community for the outstanding amount of contributions for our FOOD PANTRY.. At the end of the week there were seven tubs of food stuffs attributed to each day. This was collected and moved to the Food Pantry, ready for distribution to needy folks. Many families will be grateful for your contribution while at their dinner table.

I've noticed that Edna Lonneville has a new, silver-colored, metal roof on her Mill St. home.

The 'salt building' at the Marion Town Barns is coming along nicely.

Ice cream at Hunneybear's and at P.J.'s downtown are excellent this year!

The Bee Shop has a 'hot dog stand' set up in front of their establishment on Main St.

The Bank downtown has been 'spruced up' with a new coat of paint.

There is a garage sale at 4620 Smith Rd. on Friday (today) and Saturday, June 29 and 30.

According to the 'County War Price and Rationing Board', new adult bicycles are the only bicycles people are not allowed to purchase.

Early Marion, June 23, 1939 - The valedictory will be given by Ruth Tellier and the salutatory by Geraldine Moerman. The Rev. Frank Weston, prominent Rochester minister, will deliver the commencement address on 'Minding Our Own Business.' At the close of the exercises, there will be a class reception. Other Senior activities during the week will be the Baccalaureate Service to be held in the Baptist Church Sunday evening at 7:30 at which the sermon will be given by the Rev. J. Baker on 'Youth in the World of Tomorrow and the Senior Class Picnic to be held Tuesday at Owasco Lake.

The Ververs family has been busy. Pearl and Hank, of Marion Road, entertained Doug, Jane, Kristen and Wesley Pluta on Father's Day. They attended Kristen's graduation from Hannibal High School on Friday evening and her party on Sunday. She will be attending Geneseo for four years. Brother Jim came home from college in Richmond, Virginia for his sister's graduation.
