Day of Prayer tomorrow This year's World Day of Prayer will take place on Friday, March 2, and Newark's TIC (Together In Christ) group invite men and women of all ages to participate. St. Michael's Church in Newark will host the event. Refreshments will begin at 9:30 a.m. followed by a Bible Study in the church hall at 10 a.m. The prayer service will be from 10:30 to 11:30 a.m. in the church. The service this year will focus on Paraguay and a call to work and pray together for people in need all over the world. Prayers and songs for the service have been written by the Paraguayans. An offering will be collected. The origins of World Day of Prayer date back to the 19th century when Christian women of the United States and Canada initiated a variety of cooperative activities in mission work at home and in other parts of the world. Each year the service focuses on a different country. Last year was devoted to the people of South Africa and 2008 will be devoted to the people of Guyana. Copyright
