Conservation help from SWCD

The Soil & Water Conservation District of Wayne County is promoting the 'Forever Green' tree program. This program makes available bare-root tree and shrub seedlings suitable for reforestation, wildlife habitat, watershed protection, erosion control, backyard conservation and general environmental improvements.

Over 27 species are available including; evergreens, deciduous trees, groundcover and flowering shrubs.

Also available are Bluebird nesting boxes, Wood Duck Nesting Boxes and Bat Houses. This program is open to the public. Order forms, information and pricing is available at the SWCD office. 10 Leach Road in Lyons or you can call 946.4136 to have an order form sent to you. Deadline to order is April 6; pick-up dates are April 20 and 21 in Alton.
