Senior citizens invited to NHS rehearsal Area senior citizens are invited to attend the dress rehearsal performance of "Children of Eden" for free on March 8 at 3:30 p.m. in the Newark High School auditorium. Before that, beginning at 3 p.m., they are also invited to attend a punch and cookie reception in the NHS foyer sponsored by the Wayne County Office of the Aging. Seniors who prefer not to park in the NHS parking lot may park in the lot at the nearby Woodlane Community Church from which a school bus shuttle will be running from 2:45 to 3:30 p.m. After the performance of "Children of Eden" at 6:30 p.m., seniors are welcome to have dinner in the high school cafeteria if they would like. The dinner will include Italian marinated chicken breast, rice pilaf, garden salad, rolls and butter, beverages including coffee, and ice cream with chocolate syrup. The admission price for the dinner is $5. After the dinner, those who parked in the church parking lot will be shuttled back to their cars beginning at 7:15 p.m. The shuttle will continue running until everyone is transported back to their vehicles. Everyone who wants to attend the dinner is asked to make a reservation by March 6 by calling district volunteer coordinator Deb Barry at 332.3265. They will pay for their dinner at the door.
