WayneNET seizes marijuana, guns, cash Tuesday night, and into the early morning hours of Wednesday, March 7, Wayne NET Officers were dismantling a widespread marijuana network. Reacting to concerns by neighbors, officers began an investigation into a group they believed was distributing 10 to 20 pounds of marijuana each week, in Newark and Lyons.
John F. Plotts III, 30 of 35 Spencer Street, Lyons, was charged with criminal possession of marijuana, endangering the welfare of a child, and criminal use of drug paraphernalia. He was charged in connection with the seizure of marijuana and money at 8 Rice Street. James J. DeJohn, 25 of 728 South Main St., Newark, was charged with third-degree criminal possession of marijuana and endangering the welfare of a child Michael J. Kelly, 30 of 621 South Main St., Newark, was charged with criminal possession of Marijuana and Endangering the Welfare of a Child. DeJohn and Kelly were charged with in connection with marijuana and cash seized at 728 South Main Street, Newark. Police seized between 10 and 15 pounds of marijuana, guns and more than $2000 in cash.

Wayne County Probation is in the process of charging Michael Kelly with violation of probation in connection with this incident. Kelly was sentenced to five years probation on March 1, 2007 in exchange for a guilty plea to third-degree attempted criminal sale of a controlled substance.
