Sodus scouts mark 'World Thinking Day'

On March 3, Girl Scouts from Sodus and Sodus Point celebrated World Thinking Day by having an overnight lock-in at the Eastside YMCA in Penfield.

76 girls along with 20 adult leaders and parents, enjoyed all the facility had to offer including: swimming, a waterslide, basketball, indoor jungle gym, computers, air hockey, pool tables, an indoor track and much more.

As part of the World Thinking Celebration, girls took a 'trip around the world,' organized and planned by Sandy Rinker.

Each troop learned about Girl Scouts or Girl Guides from another country and made a display to share with the entire group. Each Sodus scout got her passport stamped as she visited each of the foreign countries - Canada, New Zealand, Romania, Germany, India, Japan, Mexico and England. Girls and adults alike, enjoyed learning more about Girl Scouting as a world wide organization.

The Sodus scouts would like to thank Susan Gagnon for finding a great facility. For information about becoming a Sodus/Sodus Point Girl Scout, call Gagnon at 483.6424.

It is never too late to join the fun!
