Peacework Farm invites you Looking to get more vegetables into your diet? Want fresh, locally grown, organic produce this season? Become a member of Peacework Farm Community Supported Agriculture (CSA)! Members receive a bag of seasonal vegetables each week for 27 weeks, from May through November. That means asparagus and peas in the spring, tomatoes and corn in the summer, and leeks and potatoes in the fall (plus other items as well). Peacework Farm grows more than 60 kinds of vegetables and herbs. A full share is 7-11 items each week, and has a sliding scale price of $14-$17-$20 per week. A partial share is 4-5 items each week, and costs $11 per week. So that no one is excluded because of inability to pay, scholarships for as much as $8 a week are available. Members pick their produce up at the farm (across from the house at 2232 Welcher Road, Arcadia) each week. Members agree to share the risks and benefits of the season with the farmers and to work three four-hour shifts helping with the farm work. Peacework welcomes families with children and offers special Children's Days when Roland Micklem, leads the children on nature walks. To reserve a place, you can send a $50 deposit made out to Peacework Farm (2218 Welcher Road, Newark, NY 14513). There will be two sign-up/orientation meetings at the farm (in the gray barn with the red doors across from the house at 2232 Welcher Rd.) for new and returning members: Thursday, March 22 from 5-7 p.m., and Sunday, April 29 at 1 to 2 p.m. For more information, call Elizabeth Henderson at 331.9029.
