my sentiments exactlyMissing Sodus

Spring is officially here, and with the weather the way it was at the end of the week it certainly felt like it. We have been longing for spring for so long. Even Sarah has had enough. It'll be nice not to get dragged quickly over the icy sidewalk as she tries to get to her snow pile and back in.

There will be all kinds of spring birthdays to celebrate. Happy birthday to Brian Hooper who has a birthday this weekend. The Hoopers now live in Florida. Susan's baby, Ariel, is growing like crazy as all babies do, and alot of Gramma Eileen's paychecks go right for her.

The flowers are beginning to pop up. And have you seen a robin yet? (It's ok, Mom saw hers already so the rest of us can admit if we've seen one.) I saw one the other day in the top of a small tree, actually as I was talking to my mom. And don't we look so forward to all of the warm sunshine that is finally coming our way!

Soon, all of the fun events will start up again and everyone will be so busy having fun in the sun.

At the Sodus Free Library:

The Friends of the Sodus Free Library will be hosting their first 2007 Books-Sandwiched-In at noon on Tuesday, March 27. Kass Vande, President of the Friends group, will be reviewing The Orchid Thief: A True Story of Beauty and Obsession by Susan Orlean. This is what Library Journal had to say about the title when it was published: 'The thief in question and offbeat genesis for New Yorker writer Orlean's book is ever-quotable eccentric John Laroche, whose craving for the rare orchid eventually lands him and three Indian accomplices in a Florida courtroomand allows Orlean to write her appreciative and lyrically funny profile of obsession and Florida.' The cost of the luncheon is $3, which includes sandwich, beverage, and dessert. Because space is limited, reservations are required, so call 483.9292 or stop by the Library to reserve your space.

When the weather gets nice is the time we really wake up and start some kind of exercise /fitness program. Getting out and going for a walk now that the weather is getting nice again is a great idea. Get the kids in the stroller or the leash on the dog. They will love going out just like you will. They've been cooped up, too.

Every month something fun is going to be going on in the Wayne Country Area....there will be Sampling Sodus, Spring Fling, boat shows, etc. and when I know mored, I will share with you. One thing I do know, is the fun is just getting started.

Enjoy your weekend and the nice weather. It has to stay now, right? Good bye to winter and HELLO to warm weather. No more hibernating. There are too many things to do. Even if you don't have plans, try to plan to be outside sometime during the day to enjoy the wonderful weather. Have fun with your families and check out all of the signs of spring ...it's here!
