A Bench for Winston

In cooperation with the Lyons Civic Club, John Buchholz, former Lyons resident, is chairing a drive to raise money to buy a top-quality, eight-foot, Victorian-style park bench that will serve as a lasting tribute to the late G. Winston Dobbins. All funds raised will be applied toward the purchase, delivery, installation and periodic maintenance of the bench, which will be placed in a prominent location in the village. To the bench will be affixed a plaque that will read, 'Presented to the Village of Lyons, NY, in memory of G. Winston Dobbins (1935-2007) by his many friends.'

If you would like to help in this effort, please send your check, noted 'Winston's Bench' and made payable to the Lyons Civic Club, c/o Andi Evangelist, 99 Broad Street, Lyons, NY 14489. Contributions in any amount will be welcomed, tax-deductible, and deposited in a separate account established for this purpose. Contributors will be listed in the summer edition of the Lyons Civic Club newsletter.
